UT Selects Dr. George Gau as New Dean of McCombs School After serving ten years as Chair of the Finance Department, Dr. George Gau will start his new duties as dean this summer. Get Published in the McCombs School History Book This fall, the McCombs School will publish a collection of stories about our history and culture, told through interviews with faculty, business partners, donors, and students. Accounting Professor Bill Kinney Wins Top National Honor The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the premier national body of certified accountants, has named accounting professor Bill Kinney its educator of the year. Read the press release... BBA Class of 2002 Graduates with Highest Average GPA to Date The Spring Class of 2002 graduated with a class average GPA of 3.4039. This is the highest average ever since the School started keeping track in 1992. See the statistics. McCombs School Donors Make an Impact The McCombs School appreciates the generosity of its donors. See a list of alumni and friends that donated to the School during the 2000-2001 year. Make a donation and be included in next year’s Investors’ Report and the Donor List homepage. Center for Customer Insight Expands its Research Globally Austin will be the host site for the 2004 Mobile Roundtable, an annual international conference on mobile communication and computing. Dr. Sirkka Jarvenpaa, Track Chair for CCI and MSIS professor, serves on the committee. Visit CCI Events for more information. Business Honors Program (BHP) Makes a Mark in 2002 The BHP Class of 2002 Make a Mark campaign raised $8,600 in pledges with a 62% class participation rate. After a matching gift from Goldman Sachs, pledges totaled more than $17,000. All funds contributed benefit an Endowed Presidential Scholarship. See campaign photos and more. UT Austin SIFE Team Captures Honors at National Free Enterprise Competition The UT Austin Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team competed against more than 150 teams representing nearly 2000 students from around the country. Read the press release... The H.J. Heinz Company Foundation Awards $50,000 to the Marketing Department The H.J. Heinz Company Foundation awarded a $50,000 unrestricted grant to the Marketing Department. These funds will be used to foster faculty development and support student programs.
