U.S. News & World Report Ranks McCombs School MBA Program #18 in the Nation For the second consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report ranks the McCombs School among the nation’s top 20 graduate business schools. Texas MBA Team Wins MOOT CORP® 2002 and $100,000 Prize The McCombs MBA Team beat out 29 teams from the London Business School, Carnegie Mellon, and top MBA programs from around the world with a business plan for a revolutionary patent-pending device that detects cervical cancer. Accounting Professors William Cooper and Bill Kinney Receive Awards The American Accounting Association honored Dr. Bill Cooper as the first recipient of its Lifetime Contribution to Management Accounting Award. Dr. Bill Kinney will receive the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award for 2002 in May. Center for Customer Insight Launches CI Ambassador and CI Alumni Programs To promote corporate participation, the Center for Customer Insight (CCI) in conjunction with the Office of Resource Development has launched a Customer Insight (CI) Ambassador Program for CI student interns. Business Honors Program (BHP) Student Wins the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Alexandra Chirinos, a junior BHP student, was one of 64 scholars selected from among 590 candidates nominated by 287 colleges and universities. See the news article.
