Financing Your Degree

Overview

Your very first step to apply for scholarships and financial aid is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All need-based financial aid is awarded based on your FAFSA information. Aid can come in many forms including grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities and loans.

The university has an application to fill out that makes you eligible for all scholarships offered by UT. Scholarship committees consider various factors to determine which scholarships to award to each individual.

Once you have completed your freshmen year, you are able to apply to scholarships offered by the business school. Like the university, the business school scholarships also have one application to fill out to make you eligible for all scholarships offered and awards are determined by a selection committee.

CENTURY CLUB ENDOWED PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP Must have demonstrated academic achievement with a min 3.0 GPA and must demonstrate potential for future scholarly achievement; Upper division undergraduate students majoring in any business specialty and enrolled with at least 12 semester hours in CBA.  Scholarships are awarded on basis of financial need and academic achievement. Recipients must be enrolled full time, unless in their final semester and less than full time load is required to graduate. Recipients will be selected primarily on academic merit. DAVID L. OLM CENTENNIAL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP To be awarded on a college-wide basis to an undergraduate, upper-division student; must be a US citizen and Texas resident. Preferred recipient will be student who is not necessarily distinguished academically but who may be disadvantaged economically, physically or socially, with additional preference to be given to students from non-urban areas of Texas. Selection to be made by a committee of faculty appointed by the Dean of the CBA based on: 1) Recipient must be a full-time student (12 or more semester hrs), enrolled as a Freshman (incoming/continuing) w/major in Business Administration. Recipient may receive an award payment for the semester during which he/she will earn more than 30 semester credit hours of total college credit, but may not receive an award for any subsequent semester. 2) Recipient must be designated as a Texas Resident at the time of admission to UT Austin. 3) Must have satisfactory (average or above) acad record. For first-time entering Freshmen & Freshmen transfer applicants, eligibility for admission to CBA to be taken as constituting a satisfactory acad record.
