Leadership Program Application
The application period begins Friday, May 1, 2009 through Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 5 p.m.
Who Can Apply
- Students entering their first or second year at the McCombs School of Business.
- Students who are able to commit to a 3 or 4 year leadership development experience.
- Student who are not enrolled in the Business Honors Program
Application Process
- BEFORE YOU BEGIN, read through all of the following directions. Also, make sure you have read Social Change Model of Leadership Development.
- Click on the “Enter LP Application Submission Site” link below and log in with your UTEID.
- If you do not meet our applicant criteria you will not be allowed to enter the application submission site.
- You will respond to 2 essay questions and submit your responses through the online application.
- You will also need to complete a creative project and submit it to
leadership@mccombs.utexas.edu or mail it to our office at the address below. Your project must be received (not postmarked) by 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2009.

Austin, TX 78712 - We advise that you save your work frequently or write your essay in Microsoft Word or a similar program and then copy and paste your work into the online application.
- You may lose work that you do not save within 30 minutes of logging in with your UT EID.
- You have the option to save and return to your work prior to submitting your application.
- You may submit your essay questions prior to or after you send your creative project. However, everything must be received in the office by 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2009.
- You may return to the application page to view what you submitted and to check for status updates on your application. We will indicate when we have received your creative project.
- As expected of McCombs students, please utilize the highest standards of ethics and integrity in submitting your application.
- All newly admitted students must be able to attend the following two Fall 2009 events:
- September 29th Welcome Dinner
(6–8 p.m., AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center) - Overnight Retreat in New Braunfels
(October 2nd at 3 p.m.–October 3rd at 5 p.m.)
- September 29th Welcome Dinner
