International Students

Get Connected: Join the MPA International Connection

The MPA International Connection (MIC) is a program dedicated to helping prospective and incoming international MPA students with transitioning to life at The University of Texas and navigating the job search.

Eligible Participants

All prospective and incoming international MPA students are invited to participate.

Student Volunteers

MIC Volunteers are current MPA international students who have offered to serve as points of  contact for participants and answer any questions prospective and incoming students have about their experiences in the MPA Program, at the University of Texas, and in the United States in general.

It is our hope that the relationship between volunteers and program participants will be be mutually beneficial as it will offer opportunities to form new friendships, share resources, and create professional networking connections.  All current international MPA students are invited to volunteer their time and expertise to assist incoming students. Click here for the volunteer application.

Monthly MIC Meetings

MPA international students are invited to attend monthly meetings to discuss recruiting issues specifically related to international students.  Meeting dates and times are announced in the MPA Weekly, a newsletter that is emailed to all MPA students every Monday by the MPA Office.

If you are interested in participating in the program as a member or volunteer, please contact Michelle Polkinghorn.
