Student Scholarships
BBA, MBA, MPA and PhD Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to McCombs School students via the BBA, MBA, MPA and PhD Program Offices. Companies may sponsor scholarships of varying dollar amounts with a broad range of selection criteria. Endowed scholarships are established with a minimum gift of $25,000 and ensure that the scholarship lasts in perpetuity. The following outlines two important distinctions of corporate-sponsored scholarships:
-
Philanthropic Scholarship -
These scholarships are considered a gift to the university, giving the company
UT gift credit as well as IRS tax credit. A company can specify scholarship
selection criteria, and in accordance with IRS tax laws, cannot select the
student(s) to receive the scholarship. - Company Designated Scholarship - These scholarships allow companies to select student recipient(s), and they must work independently of the McCombs School to identify the student(s) for their award. As the scholarship is not school-facilitated, the company does not receive IRS tax credit or UT gift credit.
Texas Leaders Scholarships
The McCombs School, in conjunction with The Texas Exes, created the Texas Leaders Scholarship (TLS) program to make financial assistance available to diverse MBA candidates. Through this program, donors have helped to make a significant impact in supporting strong McCombs School candidates who otherwise would not have the funds available to obtain their MBA. Corporations may sponsor the TLS program with a minimum $2,000 donation.
