Summary of Accounting Degree Programs
The Department of Accounting offers the following accounting degrees and degree programs:
- Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting (BBA) — This undergraduate accounting degree is designed to provide the educational basis for graduate study in accounting or a career in business.
- Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) — This professional graduate accounting degree is designed to provide the educational basis for a career in professional accounting or other business fields.
- Integrated Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) — This is an integrated three-year program beyond the sophomore year (so that it's also known as a five-year program) in which students may earn both the BBA and MPA degrees concurrently.
- Doctoral Program in Accounting (PhD) — This program places heavy emphasis on research skills and research quality, and strives to prepare candidates to assume faculty positions at leading universities. Graduates of this program can expect to be recruited actively by top-ranked business schools.
