Jim Franklin Named New Texas MPA Program Director
Steve Limberg, faculty director of the Texas MPA program, announced last week that Jim Franklin has been named director of the No. 1-ranked MPA program.
Franklin earned a bachelor of science in economics from The Wharton School, and is a proud 1993 Texas MPA graduate. He also has dual CPA certifications in Texas and California.
Limberg says, “His unique blend of industry, Big Four public accounting and federal government experience will be a great asset to the MPA program.” Franklin’s professional experience includes roles with RJ Reynolds/Nabisco, Deloitte & Touche LLP and the U.S. Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service. His activities span MPA academics, corporate university recruiting and communications. “His extensive experience interacting with partners, managers, executives and government officials, along with his skill in managing and leading teams of professionals, interns and administrative staff members will serve him well in his new role,” Limberg adds.
“As you can see from his background, Jim is an excellent fit for the position and I and the rest of the MPA Office team feel very fortunate to have him join us,” says Limberg. Franklin’s first day as MPA director was June 23,2008.
