MIS 304 INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING
Provides skills in visual basic programming logic and documentation
using object-oriented Visual Studio. Net for business applications. Prerequisite: None
MIS 325 INTRODUCTION TO DATA MANAGEMENT
Beginning and intermediate topics in data modeling for relational
database management systems; development of database systems using SQL
Server and ASP.
Prerequisite: None
MIS 333K COMPUTER UTILIZATION IN BUSINESS
This project-oriented class covers advanced systems development using
vb.NET and ASP for applications. Team project simulates real-world
situations, and strengthens interpersonal, leadership, and project
management skills.
Prerequisites: MIS 304 and 325
MIS 365 DATA COMMUNICATIONS
Basic functions of computer communications systems and the hardware
and software capabilities of such systems; security concerns; TCP/IP;
enterprise implementation of data communications. There is a lab
associated with this course.

MIS 373 BUSINESS PROCESS
EXCELLENCE
BPE
focuses on the strategic and tactical application of business
process improvement techniques, supported by information
technology as a key enabler, to achieve corporate objectives
such as reduced cost, improved customer service, and improved
information and metric generation. Based on case studies,
students will address whether business process improvement is
appropriate, explore the challenges of defining and gathering
data, gaining consensus among stakeholders, identifying
solutions (including integration of technology), and
implementing organizational change, particularly across
departmental boundaries.
MIS 374 BUSINESS SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT
The full range of development is covered: problem definition, system
design, program development, testing, documentation, and
implementation. Real world client projects. Prerequisites: MIS 333K
and completion, or concurrent enrollment in MIS 365

MIS 375 STRATEGIC IT MANAGEMENT
Prepares students to develop an understanding and appreciation for the
(i) impact of IT on the economy and business performance, (ii)
emerging public technology infrastructure and its role in the modern
organization, (iii) electronic business applications and
organizational/market transformation, and (iv) technology driven
business models and strategies. Prerequisite: MIS 365
