How long is the program?
The expected time for completion of the degree is
5 years (in
residence), with two years devoted to course work and
three to
completing the dissertation.
Do
you accept applications for the spring semester?
No. We only accept applications for the Fall semester of each
year.
How many students are in the program?
Currently there are 15 Ph.D. students in the program, divided
evenly among the two areas of specialization.
How many applicants are admitted each year?
Approximately 7 people are admitted out of over 100 applicants.
What is the average GMAT/GRE score for
admitted candidates?
The average GMAT for the past several admissions periods has been over 700, with the range from 690 to 770. The average GRE score has
been around 1450, with a range from 1400-1580.
What is the tuition?
Currently Ph.D. students pay around $2,300 per semester. Students
accepted to the program are automatically considered for financial
aid, and almost always qualify for in-state tuition rates. Every
Ph.D. student in the program is eligible and will receive some form of
financial aid if it is requested.
What form of financial aid do you have?
We have a limited number of Pre-emptive Fellowships, which are
given to the most qualified applicants. In addition, all students
making satisfactory progress in the program are given
Teaching/Research Assistant positions for which the salary is around
$6500 per long semester (Fall and Spring) and around $4000 for
summer semester. These are 20 hour per week appointments where Ph.D.
students work with Management Faculty. If you have a
Teaching/Research Assistant position, you will qualify for in-state
tuition and full health insurance benefits.
When are admissions decisions made?
Most admissions decisions are made in March, although exceptionally
qualified candidates may be considered earlier.

program typically find employment?
The Management Ph.D. program is a research-oriented program, and
focuses on preparing graduates for academic positions at
research-oriented universities.
When are the applications materials due?
All materials should be completed and returned to the address
