Alumni Participation: Make a Personal Impact
Alumni and friends of the school contributed this year in more ways than
one. The impact of their gifts of time and expertise cannot be
understated.
Importantly, our MBA alumni collectively spend hours upon hours
interviewing prospective students around the world, ensuring a talented
incoming class that can live up to the impressive legacy already built.
Countless professionals serve as mentors for our current students in all
of our programs, helping to shape their perspectives and goals. What’s
more, alumni who now hold positions in companies big and small
throughout the United States and abroad are often our students’ biggest
fans, and they prove this again and again by developing long-term
relationships through the Ford Career Center and recruiting our students
for internships and full-time jobs.
Coming back to campus can be as rewarding for the alumni and friends who
make the trip as it is for the students who interact with them. Some are
one-time classroom guests or speaker series participants who can
illuminate a specific topical issue, while others have become regular
fixtures, reappearing each semester to share their practical insights
and provide context for the theoretical material the students learn in
class.
Still other business people prefer to participate in the competitions.
With McCombs holding a growing list of rigorous case competitions at
both the undergraduate and graduate levels, there is no shortage of
venues for those interested in challenging our students, testing them
under fire.
Volunteering in any capacity is perhaps the most personal way to make a
contribution to the McCombs School and The University of Texas, and we
sincerely thank all our volunteers for your many hours of service.
