Growth Opportunities: Make a Future Impact

As the McCombs School progresses on a strategic path to becoming the best public business school in the nation, the future is bright and promising. As a leadership donor, your role in our success is substantial.

We made advances in faculty hires in 2005–2006, and we continue to recruit even more professors to fulfill our strategic goal of increasing our teaching pool by one-third. In order to offer smaller class sizes, enhance the rigor of our programs and lead in research, increasing our faculty is critical.

Our AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center, to be completed in the summer of 2008, will be home to a premier residential learning facility, attracting business professionals and students world-wide. It will boast four-star lodging, fine dining establishments, a health club, an outdoor courtyard, ballroom and meeting spaces, a 300-seat amphitheater and state-of-the-art classrooms. As an enhancement to the school’s reputation as a world-class learning environment, the center is an important part of our plan to expand McCombs’ influence and reach. The McCombs School’s goal is to raise $32.15 million of the Center’s $126 million total costs, giving us a significant equity ownership position in the property. A lead supporting gift of $25 million from AT&T, along with other naming donations we have received thus far, will give the school about 80 percent of the future net income generated by the center. Effectively, our 80 percent equity position is equivalent to the school receiving a new endowment worth over $100 million. We will continue to seek additional naming gifts for rooms in the center, enabling the school to increase its equity in the property.

Additionally, McCombs has made modernization and renovation of our main campus facilities a priority. As peer schools offer facilities with more modern appearances, it is imperative that McCombs keep up with the pace in order to remain competitive.

As leadership donors, your valuable contributions support our vision and are more critical than ever during this time of strategic growth.
