Undergraduate Business Student Killed in Iraq
Cpl. Zachary A. Kolda, 23, a senior majoring in international business at The University of Texas at Austin, was killed in Iraq last week. Kolda died as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar province, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. Media from Corpus Christi, his hometown, and across the state widely covered his death, including reminiscences from Kolda’s former advisor, teachers and fellow students.

McCombs Accounting Programs Repeat Triple Crown Ranking
In its annual ranking of accounting programs, Public Accounting Report once again ranks the McCombs School No. 1 in the nation at all three levels, undergraduate, graduate-professional, and graduate-doctoral. McCombs repeats the triple crown for the third year in a row, earning the top spot in all three rankings. And the graduate-professional degrees—the Professional Program in Accounting and Master in Professional Accounting Program—earn the No. 1 spot in the graduate-professional ranking for the 11th year in a row.
