McCombs Student Omar Ochoa, President of UT Student Government, Leads on Many Fronts

Currently in his third year, Ochoa was recently elected student body president, one of only a handful of Latino students to hold that office at The University of Texas at Austin since student government began in 1902. McCombs School Names David Jemison to Lead Option II Executive MBA Program
David Jemison, an award-winning professor of management and a former senior administrator at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business, has been named director of the school’s Executive MBA program. Jemison replaces C. Courtland Huber, who retired from directing the program this spring. “Among executive MBA programs, our program has a unique culture and heritage, and its director needs to have a deep understanding of and commitment to the program,” said George W. Gau, dean of the McCombs School. “Having taught in the program for 17 years, Dave is a great choice for this role.”

Martinez Tucker, Mulva to Receive Distinguished Alumni Awards from the Texas Exes
This year, the Texas Exes will honor two McCombs graduates, Sara Martinez Tucker and Jim Mulva, with UT Austin’s highest alumni award. The Distinguished Alumnus Award recognizes no more than six alumni each year who have distinguished themselves professionally and through service to the university. Martinez Tucker, MBA ’79, is chief executive officer of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and will deliver the Commencement Address at the 122nd University-wide Spring Commencement. She will be inducted into the McCombs Hall of Fame November 2005. Mulva, BBA ’68, MBA ’69, is the chairman and chief executive officer of ConocoPhillips. Last year, he was inducted into the McCombs School’s Hall of Fame.
