Deloitte's Allen Discusses Changing Workplace, Future of Accounting

McCombs PPA Graduates Garner AICPA Sells Award

Mark Danielson and William Leder, both 2005 graduates of the McCombs Professional Program in Accounting, have received the prestigious American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Sells Award for 2005. They are two of ten winners nationwide who completed testing during that year and earned the highest cumulative scores on the four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination on their first attempt at the exam, the AICPA announced September 12, 2006.

Electric Compete in China

Imagine you are an executive for a company that has never had a competitor. Now imagine your company is suddenly thrust into a highly competitive market. How do you solicit clients? How do you make a profit? Welcome to the dilemma facing Beijing Electric Power Corporation. The company became independent of the Chinese government in 2003 and has since had to adapt to a competitive marketplace and all of the challenges that come with it. For help, Beijing Electric turned to the Executive Education Program at the McCombs School of Business to create custom courses in marketing and customer service tailored to the needs of the company and its executives.

Ford Career Center Announces Student-Run Career Network
The McCombs Ford Career Center has found a new way to incorporate students’ need for information into the ever-changing media outlets. BBA {reality.bytes}, a student-run career network sponsored by Undergraduate Career Services, provides students with information ranging from debates on current business issues to career advice from professors. The site includes eight BBA students’ blogs chronicling their academics and jobs; podcasts hosted by students covering topics ranging from when to begin looking for internships to how employers are using Facebook in the hiring process; and interviews with professors that reveal career tips most students don’t receive in the classroom.
