Our season for interviews is starting again. This past year was the first year
of mandatory, invitation-only interviews. Alumni volunteers helped us with 65%
(633 total) of interviews this year in 36 states and 29 countries.

McCombs Introduces New MBA Program in Houston
The McCombs School is starting an MBA program in Houston to begin
in August 2005. The Texas MBA at Houston will be a two-year,
part-time MBA conducted on alternating weekends. The program
allows McCombs to bring its successful MBA curriculum directly to
the business community of Houston, the fourth largest metropolitan
area in the United States and the U.S. city with the second most
Fortune 500 headquarters.
Faculty Profiles: McCombs Welcomes Seven New Professors for
2004-2005
This week, McCombs welcomes seven new faculty members. Hailing
from academic departments and doctoral programs at Columbia,
Harvard, Kellogg, MIT, Michigan and Wharton, they are a talented
group who will make a serious impact on our community.

Shapiro: Days of "Staying Small" Long Gone in Banking
According to Marc Shapiro, former vice chairman for finance and
risk management at JPMorganChase, the banking industry in which he
began his career was dramatically different from today. For one
thing, says Shapiro, "in 1970, nobody was doing it for the money."

Kinko's Founder Sees No Conflict Between Morality and Business
As the head of Kinko’s, Paul Orfalea grew the business from one
copy machine on wheels to over a thousand stores worldwide. At the
same time, he became well-known for his concern for employees, and
the company was ranked one of the “top 100 companies to work for”
by Fortune magazine on several occasions. For Orfalea, an ethical
focus on making a practical difference in the lives of people was
always part of the business plan.

master's of business administration program is slumping, according
