Austin Mobility Roundtable 2004 is an opportunity for you to benefit from discussions of researchers and business leaders on the latest innovations in mobile technologies and analysis of their business applications.

The Roundtable is a series of global conferences on mobile communication and computing, organized by an international group of visionary researchers and practitioners. The first Mobile Roundtable was held in Tokyo, Japan in 2002. This year the host city for the 2003 Mobile Roundtable was Stockholm, Sweden (May 22-23). In March 2004, the Center for Business, Technology and Law at the McCombs School at the University of Texas will host the Roundtable in Austin, Texas, U.S., to take a fresh look at the challenges and opportunities facing the U.S. mobile industry.

Mobile Roundtable Participants will explore the following topics:

  • Characteristics and challenges of the wireless communication and computing market
  • Forthcoming innovations and future direction of mobile industry
  • Impact of technological standards and policy on development
  • Changing rules of competition
  • Impact of mobile modes of business on organizational management and strategy

Objectives of the Roundtable

Austin Mobility Roundtable and SXSW

The Austin Mobility Roundtable dovetails with Austin’s SXSW Interactive Conference. Since its debut in 1987, SXSW has evolved in a unique event focused on the creative side of the entertainment business. Designed to function on many levels, SXSW is a place to showcase work, market products, foster relationships, discuss the future, learn, and teach.
