Privacy panel deals with the issues, benefits, and
perils to location tracking services using mobile
devices. It will deal with the societal (rather than
engineering) issues when individuals can have the
progress and placement tracked by their mobile
devices. While benefits to retail outlets (quick
messages about happy hour specials, discounts,
etc.) and parents nervous about their children's
locations are apparent, serious issues on privacy,
trust, and even transborder tracking are raised. |
