Admissions Information
The TEXAS Executive MBA at Mexico City invites applications from potential candidates who are interested in obtaining their MBA while continuing to work. The program is interested in candidates who have embarked on their careers and who would like to enhance their formal understanding of business and management in order to perform at a higher level in their current jobs and to prepare for even greater responsibilities in the future.
Admission to the TEXAS Executive MBA at Mexico City program is highly competitive. The admissions committee reviews applications on an individual basis, looking at both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of an applicant’s professional and academic background. In reviewing applications, the committee seeks to assess an individual’s potential for academic success and future professional growth. Those candidates who appear to be most competitive for admission will be invited to interview with the director or designated representative of the program.
The TEXAS Executive MBA at Mexico City starts accepting applications in September. We strongly recommend that all applicants apply as early as possible. The admissions committee begins to review applications upon receipt, using a rolling admissions policy, generally reviewing applications in the order of their receipt. The earlier the application is submitted, the better are the chances of being accepted. Applications received after June 1 will be considered only if space is still available.
Characteristics of a Strong Application:
The admissions committee considers the totality of a person's application in assessing potential to complete the program successfully. Determining factors include GMAT or PAEP, TOEFL, undergraduate GPA, other advanced degrees, work experience, personal essays, letters of recommendation, ability to contribute to their classmates' learning and the personal interview. While the entire application is considered, competitive applicants' GMAT scores typically range from 600-750. Other factors and qualities may compensate for a lower GMAT.
Work Experience:
MBA applicants must have a minimum of five years of full-time, post-undergraduate work experience. The admissions committee is especially interested in the professional skills applicants have developed during their careers.
Undergraduate and Previous Graduate Achievements:
For admission purposes, the University calculates a GPA using undergraduate upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and any completed graduate work. The TEXAS Executive MBA at Mexico City does not require prior coursework in management or business administration. The ranking and reputation of the applicant’s undergraduate institution may be taken into consideration, as will extracurricular involvement during one’s undergraduate experience.
Interviews:
All applicants admitted into the TEXAS Executive MBA at Mexico City will
be interviewed by the director of the program or his representative;
however, not all applicants will be invited for an interview. A member of
the program staff will contact applicants via email or phone to set up
interview dates and times. To be interviewed, the application must be
complete as defined by the application checklist. Incomplete applications
cannot be evaluated and may encounter processing delays that could affect
the admission decision. It is the responsibility of each applicant to
monitor the status of his/her application.
