William B. Swann, teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on topics such as identity and identity negotiation, self-esteem, group processes and relationships. He also instructs programs on identity in organizations for the University's Executive Education at the McCombs School of Business.
Professor Swann is a Fellow at Princeton University and at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences. He has also been elected a fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society. He has received multiple research scientist development awards and research awards from the National Institutes of Mental Health and research funding from the National Science Foundation.
Dr. Swan is a two-time recipient of a Research Scientist Development Award from the National Institutes of Mental Health. Recently, he and his co-authors were awarded the outstanding publication in Organizational Behavior. He has authored more than one hundred scholarly articles and conference presentations and has contributed to numerous scholarly books. In addition, he has published a book intended for a general audience. He has been ranked 35th of the 50 most cited psychologists in the world.
