Texas Executive MBA : Application Procedure

Application Procedures

The Texas Executive MBA Program starts only in the fall of each year.  Applications will be accepted until July 15th.  Under unusual circumstances late applications will be considered. Admission decisions will be made as files are completed, therefore early application is encouraged.  The application processing time in the admissions center is approximately two weeks from the time an application is submitted.  No decision to admit will be made until all required materials have been received. Those candidates who appear to be the most competitive will be invited to interview with the director of the Texas Executive MBA Program.

To apply to the Texas Executive MBA Program you must fill out the online application that is maintained by the Graduate and International Admission Center (GIAC). There is a $125 application fee that may be electronically submitted, or mailed directly to The University of Texas at Austin, GIAC, P.O. Box 7608, Austin, TX 78713-7608.  Include your name and application ID on the check or money order.  If you attended UT Austin as an undergrad, you will be charged an additional $10 to cover the cost of reproducing your UT record.

The Texas Executive MBA Program accepts both the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) and the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). All applicants are required to submit valid GMAT or GRE scores from ETS. Although you can fax your GMAT score to us to expedite the review process, your official score must be sent to The University of Texas at Austin. You are encouraged to take the GMAT or GRE early in your EMBA application process so that if you do not perform as well as you would like, you have the ability to retake the exam prior to any deadlines. You may take the GMAT or GRE as often as you wish. We will only consider your highest score – we do not average test scores. Should you choose to apply using the GRE, simply apply with that score as no prior approval is needed.

For GMAT information or to request that test scores be sent to The University of Texas at Austin (code 396-44-75) contact:

Special Instructions for Applicants Who Attended School Outside of the U.S.

You must have an undergraduate degree equivalent to a four-year U.S. degree.  If you have an original copy of your transcript and degree certificate/diploma it will be necessary for you to provide it to the staff at the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC). The process for this is simple and helps to ensure the safety of your documents. The GIAC office is located at 2608 Whitis Avenue, which is at the corner of Whitis and Dean Keaton (formerly 26th street) on the UT Austin campus. Their telephone number is ( 512) 475-7390. Please take your original documents to a foreign evaluator in this office. They will be able to examine your document and once they have verified that it is authentic, they will make a copy for your UT file and return the original to you. This can be done while you wait and usually takes only a few minutes. This process will eliminate the chance of your original document getting lost in the mail or misplaced in someone’s office. Please note that if you are an applicant who has received your undergraduate degree from another country and you do not provide your original diploma document as described above, you will be barred from registration for any UT Austin classes. Thank you for your help with this process.
