Study Groups
Study
groups are an integral part of the Texas Executive MBA Program. Students interact with classmates from many different industries and
functional backgrounds to expand their understanding of the problems and
opportunities currently facing managers. Recognition of the importance of
and difficulties associated with the formation and development of
successful work groups is an explicit feature of the Texas Executive MBA
Program curriculum. The use of the sophisticated e-mail and discussion
database features of Sharepoint groupware allow students to form study
groups without reference to geography.
Network Communications

To facilitate teamwork between students and enhance student interaction with the professors, the McCombs School of Business provides you with Microsoft technical features. This is designed with the busy professional/Texas Executive MBA Program student in mind. It provides an effective communications medium that allows students and professors to interact and collaborate with other students and study groups on a daily basis, making class time more productive. The McCombs School of Business uses strong security practices to safeguard e-mail addresses, contact information and other sensitive information.
The common operating environment in the McCombs of Business is Microsoft Windows based. Students are expected to have a laptop computer which will accommodate this network. Although there is no minimum computer knowledge required as a condition for admission to the program, students will be expected to quickly acquire fundamental skills for using standard word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
