EY Accounting Ambassadors
Making an Impact
Texas McCombs School of Business and its Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) Program is thrilled to announce our partnership with the Ernst & Young Foundation to create the EY Accounting Ambassadors Program.
You can get involved with the EY Accounting Ambassadors Program by becoming an MPA mentor or mentee.
Become an MPA mentor or mentee
-
Mentees
MPA mentees are undergraduate students with an interest in accounting and are assigned an MPA mentor. MPA mentors will be present during our program meetings and meet with mentees throughout the academic school year. -
Mentors
Mentors share their academic and personal experiences and provide tips on how to succeed in accounting courses with the overall goal to contribute to the success of undergraduate students interested in accounting. An EY professional will also be assigned to each MPA participant to serve as a mentor through the program.

Our Mission
The EY Accounting Ambassadors Program at Texas McCombs is a group dedicated to encouraging more underrepresented business students to study accounting at the University of Texas at Austin.

What We Do
Professional Development
Each semester we host 3-5 speakers who share their knowledge and experience with program participants. Our speakers include professionals in industry/public accounting, faculty and first-rate UT staff with experience in networking and professional development. Here are some of the topics our program sessions have covered:
- How to make yourself stand out in interviews
- Networking Etiquette
- Developing a global mindset
- Leadership styles and working in teams
- How to be an impactful mentor
- Defining success
A list of our speakers can be found on the Schedule of Events tab.
Academic Support
Twice each semester, students have the opportunity to convene with accounting tutors to review ACC 311 (Introductory Financial, fall semester) and ACC 312 (Introductory Managerial, spring semester) concepts prior to exams.
At each program session, one of our faculty members joins the group to share their experience, offer academic advice, and encourage students to get to know the professors and attend office hours.
Financial Awards
To encourage success in accounting classes, high-achieving Ambassadors have the opportunity to apply for book awards, funded by a portion of the EY gift.
