MBA/MPA Business Language Tutoring

Offered by the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), Business Language Tutoring is available in a variety of languages.

Language options are dependent upon the availability of tutors for the requested language. CIBER works to accommodate as many requests as possible each semester. Previously offered languages:
 

Catalan	German	Portuguese
Chinese	Italian	Spanish
French	Japanese	English (for international students)

Tutoring sessions are tailored to the student's level of proficiency:

Beginning	basic language
Intermediate	business terminology
Advanced	business situations

Eligible Students: MBA & MPA students only
Proficiency Level:  All levels
Schedule: 12 weeks, 90 minute sessions
Specific days & times arranged with tutors
Available Fall & Spring semesters
Location: UT-Austin campus, specific location arranged with tutors
Cost: $400
Payment: The $400 fee will be posted to students' UT accounts.  Payment can be made via What I Owe.
Credit: No Credit

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

To encourage the development of language skills for international business careers, the MPA Program Office will reimburse an MPA student for half of the cost of a language tutoring course organized by the U.T. Center for International Business Research (CIBER). Reimbursement will be available to each student only once per academic year. Because funds are limited, requests will be considered on a first come, first served basis. Students must submit an application to the MPA Program Office (CBA 2.302) prior to the start of the course.
