Why attend:
Mr. Gibbs is the former chairman and a Managing Director of Protiviti, Inc., a
global consulting firm specializing in the management of business and
operational risks and the development of internal audit capabilities to monitor
and report on corporate risk. Under his leadership, Protiviti has grown
from a start-up operation in 2002 to annual revenues of over $550 million in
2007. Globally, Protiviti employs over 3200 professionals in 16 countries.
Over 350 companies of the Fortune 1000 and more than 20% of the Global 500
companies have become significant clients of Protiviti during its first five
years of operations. Recently, Mr. Gibbs became part of Protiviti's Board
of Directors and a senior executive in Robert Half Inc, the parent company of
Protiviti.
Before founding Protiviti, Mr. Gibbs was a senior partner and the global leader
for Arthur Andersen's natural gas industry program. He has served as an
expert witness on major litigation and he became the firm's foremost authority
on Natural Gas Transmission. He was editor and co-author for multiple
publications of a book entitled Natural Gas Trends. He also functioned as
the managing director for the Southwest Region Business Risk Consulting
Practice.
Mr. Gibbs graduated with a BA in Plan II from The University of Texas and did
his post-graduate work in The UT College of Business with a specialization in
accounting. He became a CPA in 1977. In addition to the Protiviti
Board, he has served on the Board of the Houston American Heart Association and
The Alley Theatre. He is a current member of the Chancellor's Council and
the Accounting Advisory Council of The University of Texas.
