Master in Professional Accounting (MPA)

Distinguished Speaker Series 2008

A hallmark of the Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) program is its Distinguished Speaker Series (Lyceum), which integrates graduate accounting studies with current issues in accounting. Students in their last year of the program broaden their understanding of accounting's fundamental role in business and society through the series and discover the profession's shaping forces, trends, origins and importance.

To demonstrate the pervasive nature of the accounting profession, the MPA Distinguished Speaker Series welcomes speakers from diverse backgrounds. This year, the lineup includes professionals in: the performing arts; economics; journalism; special industries such as sports, government and law; as well as traditional accounting areas.

The Fall 2008 MPA Distinguished Speaker Series takes place on Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. in the San Jacinto Hall Multipurpose Room on the UT Austin campus. Each presentation is followed by a question-and-answer period and a brief reception.

For more information on the MPA Lyceum, contact the MPA Office at (512) 471-6559 or MPAOffice@mccombs.utexas.edu.
