Estimated Program Costs for the MPA Program

The following are approximate tuition and fees for a one semester, 15-hour registration in Fall 2007. A twelve- to fifteen-hour schedule is a typical courseload for an MPA student in any given semester. The total MPA Program ranges from 37 to 43 semester credit hours. Registration fees are payable at the time of registration. In general, the cost of enrollment depends on the student's residency status and the number of courses for which he or she registers. aIn-state tuition is $263 per credit hour, plus academic sustainability tuition of $2761. Out-of-state tuition is $768 per credit hour, plus academic sustainability tuition of $3588. MPA students typically register for 12-15 credit hours per semester. The total program is 37-43 semester hours.
 
Base tuition for Texas residents and non-residents is set by the University of Texas Board of Regents.  Base tuition may increase while you are in the program by amounts that the Business School cannot predict at this time.

bInternational students expenses are the same as out-of-state students, except that they must pay an additional $51.50 per semester for international student services. Any international student holding a nonimmigrant visa is also required by the university to pay the international student health insurance fee, which is a variable amount set by the UT System. cMPA students typically enroll in three (fall, spring, summer) to four (summer, fall, spring, summer) semesters.

dThis cost of living figure was provided by  The Office of Student Financial Services and is based upon averages approved by The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The figure may not correspond exactly to the cost of living in Austin. Costs include room and board, transportation, and miscellaneous/personal expenses. Your lifestyle and family status affect your individual MPA Program costs.
