Since May 2000, when renowned entrepreneur Red McCombs invested $50 million in The University of Texas at Austin School of Business, the School has launched an aggressive plan to improve its standing as a world leader in business education. To this end, 90% of the McCombs funds are dedicated to match approved contributions to new and existing endowments. McCombs School of Business is a three-building complex of 350,000 square feet. There are 26 classrooms, 535 offices, 13 research centers, a multi-media technology laboratory, and 5 computer laboratories with 300 computers.
Wireless internet access is now available in all classrooms and public spaces within McCombs, including the interview suites in the Ford Career Center, Hall of Honors, Atrium and study areas. There are over 1000 network ports.
The main building features a three-story atrium with food service options.
Four recently renovated MBA cohort classrooms are configured to maximize instruction and learning with media.
The new MBA Carpenter Center Lounge is a 2600 sq. ft. of private study space for MBAs. The Center has a work room and conference room for student organizations, and is adjacent to 10 private meeting rooms.
The multi-million dollar Ford Career Interview Center has 43 private interviewing suites, with nearby changing rooms and suit lockers so that students can dress for on-campus recruiting.
The AIM Trading Center and EDS Classroom are a state-of-the art trading, research and teaching facility equipped with the same technology that serves Wall Street.
