Since May 2000, when renowned entrepreneur Red McCombs invested $50 million in
The University of Texas at Austin School of Business, the School has launched an aggressive plan to improve its standing as a world leader in business education. To this end,

- McCombs School of Business is a three-building complex of 350,000
square feet. The buildings are listed as: GSB, CBA-South and
CBA-North. There are 26 classrooms, 535 offices, 13 research
centers, and 5 computer laboratories with 300 computers. The main
building features a three-story atrium with food service options
provided by O’s. In addition to services provided in the McCombs
building complex, there is also a multi-media technology laboratory
located on the first floor of the University Teaching Center (UTC).
- Wireless internet access is available in all classrooms and
public spaces within McCombs, including the interview suites in the
Ford Career Center, Hall of Honors, Atrium and study areas. There
are over 1000 network ports.
- Four MBA cohort classrooms are configured to maximize
instruction and learning. These classrooms are dedicated for MBA use
and instruction.
- The Ford Career Interview Center has 43 private
interviewing suites, with nearby changing rooms and suit lockers so
that students can dress for on-campus recruiting. [removed

- The AIM Trading Center and EDS Classroom are a state-of-the art
trading, research and teaching facility equipped with the same
technology that serves Wall Street.
- The McCombs School of Business has several event venues
available to McCombs-sponsored student organizations:
• Legacy Events Room (CBA 3.202). The
Legacy Events Room can be configured in three ways to accommodate a
variety of events: Classroom (64 attendees), Theater (100
attendees), or Reception (125 attendees).
• CBA Events Room (CBA 3.304). The
CBA Events Room can accommodate up to 75 attendees seated, or 150
attendees standing.
• GSB Events Room (GSB 5.130). The
GSB Events Room can accommodate up to 54 attendees.
• The Atrium (CBA 3rd Floor). The
Atrium can accommodate up to 350 attendees seated, or 500 attendees
standing.
• The Hall of Honors (CBA 2nd Floor).
The Hall of Honors can accommodate up to 250 attendees seated, or
450 attendees standing.
• The GSB Plaza. The Plaza can
accommodate up to 1,367 attendees.
Note: The Legacy Events Room and the CBA Events Room contain
built-in multi-media; the Atrium, Plaza and the GSB Events Room do
not.
- The McCombs School of Business also has several venues available
to Staff and Faculty only. They are:
• Faculty / Staff Lounge (CBA 3.302). The Faculty / Staff
Lounge is available to all McCombs staff and faculty.
• The Green Room (CBA 4.350). The Green Room can accommodate
up to 40 attendees.
• MSB Conference Room (CBA 6.420). The MSB Conference Room
can accommodate up to 35 attendees.
There are several student lounges and study areas located within the
McCombs complex:
• AIM Reading Room (4th Floor)
• Reliant Productivity Center (4th Floor)
• PhD Lounge (5th Floor)
• MPA Lounge (4th Floor)
• The Frito Lay Student Leadership Center (3rd Floor) is a
private student services center for McCombs-affiliated undergraduate
student organizations. It contains a workroom and conference room.
• The Carpenter Center (3rd Floor) is a private study space
for MBA students. It has a work room and conference room for student
organizations, and is adjacent to 10 private meeting rooms. [removed
