Texas Leader Scholarships Promote Diversity

Texas Leader Scholarships Promote Diversity Verizon Information Services and Dynegy recently made significant financial commitments to the Texas Leader Scholarship program.

Administered by the Texas Exes, Texas Leader Scholarships (TLS) were created by private donors to encourage a diverse student body on the UT campus and to develop future leadership in the state of Texas. Students from traditionally underrepresented groups, including members of racial and ethnic minority groups and students from economically disadvantaged areas, are considered for the awards.

The TLS program is an important element of the McCombs School’s recruiting strategy. Intended for McCombs graduate students and offered in conjunction with the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, the TLS program helps achieve geographic, racial, and ethnic diversity in the MBA and MPA programs. Other leading sponsors of these scholarships include Ford Motor Company, JPMorgan Chase, the American Airlines Foundation, Conoco, and ExxonMobil.

For more information, or to help fund these important scholarships, please
contact Eleanor Moore, Director of Scholarships & Recruitment for the Texas Exes, at (512) 471-8083.
