Corbin “Corby” J. Robertson, Jr., BBA 69, received the Outstanding Houston Texas Ex Award, given by the Houston Texas Exes Association during its Texas Independence Day Celebration on March 9.
Robertson is president of Quintana Minerals Corporation and he sits on the Boards of several companies, including the Olympia Realty Corporation, Western Pocahontas Corporation, and Westview Development, Inc. His list of civic activities is long and distinguished, including involvement in such institutions as the Baylor College of Medicine, Cullen Trust for Higher Education, Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston, and the Kinkaid School, among many others. At UT Austin, Robertson is a member of the Littlefield Society, the Chancellor’s Council, the President’s Associates, and the Development Board. He is also a past member of the McCombs School’s Advisory Council.
Past honors for Robertson include the UT Austin College of Business Distinguished Alumni Award in 1984, the University of Houston Hugh Roy Cullen Award for Distinguished service in 1988, and the Texas Exes’ Distinguished Citizen Award in 2001.
While a student in the Business Honors Program at the UT Business School, Robertson played football for UT. In 1968 he was co-captain of the team.
