Texas Leader Scholarship Donors Recognized
This year, 39 graduate students received a Texas Leader Scholarship. Designed by the Texas Exes to create a more diverse and representative campus in the wake of the Hopwood decision, the scholarships attract a geographically diverse group of students, including many traditional minorities. The TLS program is supported by companies that share the University’s commitment to a diverse academic environment and a diverse and highly skilled workforce.
This fall, the McCombs School recognized Conoco, Dynegy, ExxonMobil, Ford Motor Company, and Verizon Information Services for their generous support of the TLS program. At a reception held in their honor, corporate representatives met TLS scholarship recipients for a first-hand perspective on their impact on the students’ future.
