UTBN Moves to Texas Exes

After considering recommendations from the University of Texas Business Network (UTBN) Advisory Board, Dean George Gau and Jim Boon, Executive Director of the Texas Exes, recently concluded that the UTBN program might be most successful if it were fully integrated into the Texas Exes and its local chapters.

Jointly sponsored by the McCombs School and Texas Exes in the past, the program is renamed the Texas Exes Business Network beginning September 1. No longer sponsored by the McCombs School, it will continue to operate as a committee under the Texas Exes local chapters as it has since its inception.

The McCombs School will continue to offer regional alumni gatherings as well as other programs and services for graduates of the school such as News Bytes, the monthly electronic newsletter sent to all BBA alumni for whom we have an email address; the Alumni/Parents’ Day Barbeque held prior to a football game each fall; an online alumni directory; and a 50-year reunion.

Information about Texas Exes Business Network (TEBN) activities is available through Texas Exes. To learn if there is an active network in your city, go to http://www.texasexes.org/chapter.php3#tx and click on your chapter listing.

Please note that the graduate alumni relations program, the McCombs MBA Alumni (MMA) Network, remains unaffected by this change and will continue to be coordinated by the MBA Program Office.

Make an Impact with Planned Giving

How can you make a significant impact on the future of the McCombs School without making a personal sacrifice or giving up your current income?

One of the easiest and most rewarding ways is to include the school in your will, or to explore one of the many flexible planned giving options. UT's planned giving specialists can ensure maximum benefits, including tax advantages, for you and your family, while helping the McCombs School meet tomorrow's challenges.

If you have already named the McCombs School as a beneficiary, please let us know. Whether you wish to remain anonymous or to be recognized for your generosity, we would like the opportunity to appropriately thank you for your foresight. Many planned gifts qualify their donors for the Texas Leadership Society, a select group of supporters who have included UT-Austin in their estate planning. Finally, knowing about your estate gift helps us plan more effectively for the future.

Join others who have made meaningful commitments that provide lasting benefits to generations of McCombs School students and faculty.  Learn more about planned giving at the Planned Giving webpage or contact Sandy Dorman, Director of Individual Giving and Endowments, at 512-475-8179.
