Dena Harrison, BBA ’67, has been elected
the first female Episcopal bishop in the Southern United
States. As director of congregations in the Austin region,
Harrison looks forward to planting new churches and embraces
the opportunity to work with a diverse population.
Norman Caldera, BBA ’70, has been named
trade negotiator coordinator for Central America by the
presidents of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua
and Panama. He is currently minister of foreign affairs of
Nicaragua. He will begin his new post in January 2007.
Robert P. Braubach, BBA ’73, recently
addressed the Interjurist Conference of International
Lawyers in Geneva, Switzerland, on “Recent Developments in
U.S. Real Market, and U.S. Reporting Requirements for
Foreign Investors.” Braubach is based in San Antonio and has
a business law practice with an emphasis on commercial real
estate and international business transactions, particularly
dealing with Europe.
Scott Ingraham, BBA ’76, was elected to the
board of directors at LoopNet Inc., the largest online
commercial real estate listing service. Ingraham co-founded
Rent.com and currently serves as a Rent.com advisor to eBay.
Mark Holifield, BBA ’77, recently joined
Home Depot as senior vice president. Holifield has 29 years
of experience in supply chain, logistics and transportation,
including serving as executive vice president of supply
chain management at Office Depot.
Wayne Spencer, BBA ’77, has joined
Southwest Securities, FSB to serve as president of its new
banking center in Dallas. Before working for Southwest
Securities, Spencer served as executive vice president and
CEO of Frost Bank.
Anne Glover, BBA ’81 and MBA ’86; and David
Glover, BBA ’80, have become the largest franchisees of
Massage Envy therapy clinics in Texas. The couple owns the
majority of Massage Envy clinics in Houston as well as the
highest-grossing Texas clinic. David, owner of a real estate
brokerage company, locates the properties while Anne
operates the clinics.
Michael Burns, BBA ’86, is one of three
founding principals of the newly formed Guggenheim Venture
Partners. Tracey Luke, BBA ’88, is the new director of
portfolio management for Liquid Realty Partners, which
specializes in acquiring interests in private real estate
funds, partnerships and trusts on a secondary basis.
Peter Hajmasy, MPA ’95, and Cynthia
Martin-Hajmasy, BBA ’93, welcomed their second
daughter, Alexandra Raine, in April 2006. The family lives
in San Antonio where Cynthia is a management analyst with
the San Antonio Fire Department.
Brandon Calvo, BBA ’96, has been named
mid-Atlantic division president for Cosentino North America.
One of the Cosentino’s first employees when the company was
formed in 1998, Calvo has played a large role in growing the
company’s flagship brand.

MBAs and MPAs
Michael Lynch, MBA ’76, was appointed senior managing director of GSC Partners, an investment advisor specializing in credit-driven investing. Lynch spent about 30 years as a member of Goldman Sachs’ investment banking division before joining GSC Partners.Marc Cuenod, BBA ’80, MBA ’82, was named head of the Wells Fargo Energy Group Houston Energy Division. Cuenod previously served as senior relationship manager for the Houston Energy Division. He remains active in the American Red Cross’s Greater Houston Area Chapter, where he has served as a board member and volunteer for more than 10 years.
Marwan Marshi, MBA ’86, has joined Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. as vice chairman and managing director in global capital markets. Marshi has 20 years of capital markets experience, including serving as managing director at Citigroup.
Michael Lim, BBA ’84, MPA ’86, was recently named head of Hanmi Bank’s newly created wealth management group. Prior to this position, Lim was senior vice president and head of private and priority banking at Standard Chartered First Bank.
James Carley, MBA ’87, is the new associate district administrator for examinations in the Security and Exchange Commission’s Atlanta district office. Carley will direct a team in the examination of broker-dealers, investment companies and advisers across seven Southeastern states.
Fred Fram, BBA ’85, MBA ’87, has accepted the position of director of operations for Stanford Group Co. in Houston. He, his wife Melanie and daughter Meredith are thrilled to return to Houston from Southern California.
Preston Moore, MBA ’87, was promoted to executive vice president and manager of Amergy Bank’s wealth management and capital markets business lines. Moore previously served as senior vice president and manager of syndicated finance. He remains active in the community, volunteering at the Neighborhood Centers, Inc. and serving on the alumni board of the Kinkaid School and the Houston Country Club’s board of directors.
Peter McNierney, MBA ’90, was elected president and CEO of First Albany Companies. He was also appointed to the First Albany’s board of directors. Before joining the firm in 2002 as director of investment banking, McNierney served as head of the health care and communications groups at Robertson Stephens.
James H. Lee, BBA ’88, MBA ’92, has been appointed to serve in President Bush’s administration as a member of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s National Advisory Council. The National Advisory Council, which is comprised of appointed business leaders from 10 regions across the country, provides expert advice to the SBA on how to maintain and strengthen the nation’s economy by protecting the interests of small businesses and private enterprise nationally.
Matthew Morris, MBA ’96, was named to the Stewart Title Guaranty’s board of directors. Morris currently serves as senior vice president for planning and development at Stewart Information Services. Stewart Title Guaranty, a technology-driven real estate information and transaction management company, is a subsidiary of Stewart Information Services.
Robert Latchford, MBA ’99, was recently named chief financial officer for Cernium Corp., the leading developer and provider of behavior recognition software and systems for the security industry. Chris Sawyer, MBA ’01, has voluntarily chosen to return to active duty with Commander Fleet Logistics Support Wing at NAS Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth. He is senior supply officer reporting to the Commodore.
James Zook, MBA ’01, joined
Mercer Human Resource Consulting as a principal in the
firm’s communication unit. Zook is also active in the
Atlanta chapter of the McCombs MBA Alumni Network. Callan Carpenter, MBA ’02, was hired as vice president of business development for PLD Applications. He has more than 20 years of experience in the electronics industry, including backgrounds in engineering, sales, marketing and executive management.
Brian Crain, MBA ’03, has opened an acupuncture
business in Austin called the goji seed. Crain is
mainstreaming a healing modality that until now has not
taken hold in the West. His clinic has had success treating
pain, fertility, children, stress, and general health
clients through the use of acupuncture, acupressure and
herbs. These practices can complement Western medicine or
offer hope to those that have not had positive results with
Western medicine. The goji seed is now offering 20 percent
off its services to all faculty and current UT Austin
students with a student ID until Jan. 31, 2007. Jennifer White, MPA ’05, married James Ramirez in May. The two spent their honeymoon in the Bahamas and currently reside in Devine, Texas.
Scott Zentack, MBA ’05, became engaged while hiking in Peru and got married this past July. He and his wife spent their honeymoon in Alaska where they hiked, kayaked and ate their body weight in fresh fish. The two bought a fixer-upper house in Dallas last summer. Zentack currently works for Air Liquide Electronics as a business analyst and product manager.
