Executive Education and Conference Center Naming Opportunities Announced

onstruction has begun on the new University of Texas Executive Education and Conference Center. This world-class facility is the next step in the continuation of a history of teaching excellence at the McCombs School and will move the school closer to its goal of becoming the top public business school in the nation.

On schedule to open during fall 2008, the center will house the McCombs School Executive Education programs and will also be used by several schools and programs throughout the university. The finalized plans for the center include technologically advanced classrooms, conference rooms and a 300-seat amphitheater, all designed to accommodate pioneering courses, simulation exercises, case study discoveries and interactive seminars.

Naming TableThe associated 300-room residential center will offer fine dining, a health club, a landscaped courtyard and well-appointed accommodations. In addition, the center is within walking distance of some of Austin’s best cultural resources, including the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center and the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art.

“The completion of the Executive Education and Conference Center will be a new milestone for the McCombs School and our Executive Education programs,” said Larry Abeln, associate dean and director of Executive Education. “The center will allow us to build on our current base of open enrollment and custom programs by providing a first rate on-campus residential learning experience. The facility will also allow us to build important bridges through learning partnerships with the business community in Austin and throughout Texas.”

The new building presents several naming opportunities, including the ballroom, a spacious gathering place for university guests as well as faculty, students, staff, alumni and donors; the plaza courtyard, a welcoming exterior area leading into the complex; classrooms; and the center as a whole.

“Contributing to the construction of this important facility is an excellent opportunity to positively impact the McCombs School and The University of Texas at Austin,” said David Lotz, assistant dean and director of the Office of Resource Development for the McCombs School. “Through these gifts you are enhancing the academic experience of generations of UT students to come.”
