Executive Education and Conference Center Naming Opportunities Announced
onstruction has begun on the new University of Texas
Executive Education and Conference Center. This world-class
facility is the next step in the continuation of a history
of teaching excellence at the McCombs School and will move
the school closer to its goal of becoming the top public
business school in the nation.
On schedule to open during fall 2008, the center will house
the McCombs School Executive Education programs and will
also be used by several schools and programs throughout the
university. The finalized plans for the center include
technologically advanced classrooms, conference rooms and a
300-seat amphitheater, all designed to accommodate
pioneering courses, simulation exercises, case study
discoveries and interactive seminars.
The associated 300-room residential center will offer fine
dining, a health club, a landscaped courtyard and
well-appointed accommodations. In addition, the center is
within walking distance of some of Austin’s best cultural
resources, including the Bob Bullock Texas State History
Museum, the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center and the
Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art.
“The completion of the Executive Education and Conference
Center will be a new milestone for the McCombs School and
our Executive Education programs,” said Larry Abeln,
associate dean and director of Executive Education. “The
center will allow us to build on our current base of open
enrollment and custom programs by providing a first rate
on-campus residential learning experience. The facility will
also allow us to build important bridges through learning
partnerships with the business community in Austin and
throughout Texas.”
The new building presents several naming opportunities,
including the ballroom, a spacious gathering place for
university guests as well as faculty, students, staff,
alumni and donors; the plaza courtyard, a welcoming exterior
area leading into the complex; classrooms; and the center as
a whole.
“Contributing to the construction of this important facility
is an excellent opportunity to positively impact the McCombs
School and The University of Texas at Austin,” said David
Lotz, assistant dean and director of the Office of Resource
Development for the McCombs School. “Through these gifts you
are enhancing the academic experience of generations of UT
students to come.”
