Dean’s Associates Continue Tradition of Texas-Sized Generosity

This year, donors at the Dean’s Associates level will enjoy greater returns on their philanthropic investment in the school. Dean’s Associates contribute between $1,000 and $9,999 each fiscal year. Their gifts directly support strategic initiatives to strengthen programs, enhance the student experience and provide a worldclass education for the next generation of business leaders.

“Every annual gift helps ensure McCombs students receive the best opportunities to develop their potential at the business school,” says Allen Holt, director of annual giving programs.

To honor Dean’s Associates for their commitment to excellence in business education, McCombs Annual Giving Program has expanded donor recognition and rewards to include regional receptions with school leaders, invitations to attend special events on campus and increased communication on how the school uses charitable gifts.

Holt is a firm believer in the collective impact of giving and notes that McCombs’ alumni community is one of its biggest assets.

“We have 80,000 alumni, and if we combine their giving efforts, we’re able to improve the school immensely, for students and alumni alike,” he says. “The tradition of generosity at the school is fueled by the success of its graduates. If we’re going to continue producing top talent on a global scale, we need the support of the entire McCombs community to power the strategic initiatives that ensure success.”

Two BBA alumni agree. Jeff Duchin and Erin Koechel graduated in 1998. These Dean’s Associates donors received an outstanding
business education at McCombs and connected with alumni who helped them launch their own careers.

“Our experience was made possible in part by the generosity of alumni and friends of the university that came before us,” says Duchin. “As alumni, we now feel that it is our responsibility to share our prosperity with the business school in order to provide current and future students the same level of benefits and opportunities we were able to enjoy.”
