Kenny Jastrow Endowed Scholarship Receives $1 Million

In honor of Kenny Jastrow’s 29 years of service to Temple-Inland, the company donated $500,000 to the McCombs School endowed scholarship bearing his name. Dean George Gau contributed an additional $500,000 in matching funds, bringing the overall value of the scholarship to approximately $1 million.

“Kenny is a wonderful friend and supporter of the McCombs School,” Gau said. “We are delighted to receive this donation from Temple-Inland in recognition of Kenny’s outstanding leadership.”

Jastrow, BBA ’69 and MBA ’71, was chairman and CEO of Temple-Inland from 2000 to 2007 and has served in a number of leadership roles at the McCombs School and the university. He was chairman of the McCombs School Advisory Council, the UT Development Board and the president’s Commission of 125. The McCombs School inducted him into its Hall of Fame in 2003, and the Texas Exes presented him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2004.
