Quality Control Head Brewer,

Having studied fermentation science at UC-Davis, Tim worked as a vintner and a brewer in Oregon before moving to Texas to attend UT. "Much of my job as a brewer involved being in tune with the product to stay in control of the process," he says. He might be able to say the same thing about himself: staying close to his own motivation, Tim knew that earning a business degree in operations would help him advance along his specific career track.

"Dealing with boutique items really appeals to me because there's a creative, tangible, and high quality product there. My skill set includes manufacturing and operations, so pursuing a career that combines both my skill set and my passion would put me in that zone," Tim says. He adds, "Because I'm not following a cookie-cutter career track, cost was a huge factor for me. Paying $25,000 a year did not make a whole lot of sense." When applying to schools, he quickly narrowed his top choice to Texas for both its quality and affordability.
