Jaxie Stollenwerck

Senior Marketing Analyst,
Taco Bell Corporation

As a research assistant for Pat O'Brien at CBS Sports, Jaxie covered big events like the U.S. Open. She found that she really enjoyed working with companies like Nike, which had an entire tennis marketing team dedicated to promotion of the sporting event, and she decided to go into marketing.

In her next job as a senior marketing analyst with Taco Bell, Jaxie helped to develop national promotions with entertainment properties. Among her better known projects were the Taco Bell cups with the Star Wars: Episode One scenes on them.

"I loved what I was doing," she says, "I got to travel around the country and see people interacting with the promotions in test markets-it was really rewarding." But sitting in high-level meetings, she realized she didn't have the analytical skills that she needed to advance. "I understood what they were talking about, but I wasn't a real player, I knew I needed to go back to school to learn that stuff."
