Ross Family Supports Students' Mastery of SAP

Beau (MBA 88) and Kathryn Ross established an endowed graduate fellowship this year that will support MBA students in a curriculum offering that intersects technology and human resources. "We wanted to help facilitate the skill development of students who are interested in working with SAP," says Beau Ross, founder of PremierHR Solutions in Austin. PremierHR is a national consulting firm that implements SAP software focused on the human resources functionality.

President of the Graduate Business Council while in the MBA program, Beau says that leadership experience and his interaction with then Dean Bob Witt were essential to the development of crucial business skills. "I really enjoyed being a part of the Graduate School of Business. I feel I've received a great deal of value from my education, and I wanted to help give an opportunity to others to have the same experience," he explains.

Beau feels fortunate to be able to give back to UT at such an early point in his career. "Helping to fund the growth and improvement of the school as it reaches for ever higher goals is just a good investment," says Beau. "By contributing early in my life rather than later on, I actually get to see the benefits over a longer period of time. Also, the gift becomes more valuable as it continues to build into the future, allowing the University to do a lot more with the money.

Upon graduating from the MBA program in 1988, Beau joined Andersen Consulting and held positions in a number of areas, including strategic services, human resources, and change management. He also worked as the director of human resources at SHL Systemhouse. Beau and his wife Kathryn have a three-year-old son and are awaiting the birth of their second child.
