J.M. Buzbee, BBA 53, sold Industrial Technology, Inc., which he founded in 1972, to Textron, Inc. Jim lives in Mineral Wells but spends a lot of time sailing the east coast.
Vic Leventhal, BBA 66, joined the advisory board of NIKA Software, developer of FloWorks, a program used to understand fluid flows and how solid materials will react. Leventhal is currently group executive for Dassault Systems and former COO of SolidWorks Corporation.
Michael Nichols, BBA 66, joined Alaska Communications Systems as its new vice president of sales and marketing. He was previously the part owner and president of International Telecom, Inc.
Arthur Skeats, BBA 67, has been appointed executive vice president of FlowCycle, Inc., a Dallas-based consulting firm.
Michael Churchill, BBA 70, has been appointed to the board of directors of Piranha, Inc., a data compression software company. He is currently a private investment banker.
John H. Gray, BBA 72, joined Docucorp, a provider of enterprise information solutions, as CFO. Previously he was CFO of Fresh America Corp.
Carolina Herrera, BBA 74, was named one of the Top 50 Hispanic Women in Business by Hispanic Business magazine in its April 2001 issue. Herrera is a fashion designer in New York. Her Carolina Herrera Collection combines Latin femininity with elegance and practicality. She launched her fashion business in the early 1980s.
Glenn Kleinert, BBA 75, was appointed president and chief operating officer of McMoRan Oil & Gas LLC. He will also be an executive vice president of McMoRan Exploration Co. and a member of its Board of Directors.
John Worth, BBA 75, has been appointed a director of FTI Consulting, Inc., a national provider of strategic and litigation-related consulting services, in its Forensics & Litigation Advisory practice in the South Central U.S.
Zachary A. Aills, BBA 76, has been named chief financial officer of HO2 Partners, a Dallas-area venture capital firm specializing in seed investments for Internet-related companies.
Joseph Hensley, BBA 76, has been appointed president of AVIDYN, Inc., a technology solutions and outsource services provider for the healthcare industry.
Nathan “Jack” Jacobson, BBA 77, who helps optimize commercial real estate for Texas Exes in Houston, announced the birth of his third son, Jonathan Grant Jocobson, in March.
Gary Kelly, BBA 77, was promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer, Southwest Airlines. Kelly began at Southwest as controller.
Gilbert Herrera, BBA 78, and member of the McCombs School Advisory Council, has been appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to head the state agency responsible for state purchasing, the General Services Commission.
Philip Bible, BBA 79, joined Summit Properties as VP of development. He has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Summit, Philip was senior director with Kennedy Wilson International.
Mark Floyd, BBA 79, has been appointed to the board of directors of Carrier Access Corporation. Floyd was previously CEO and chairman of Efficient Networks, recently acquired by Access Solutions, Siemens Information and Communication Networks, Inc., where he now serves as president.
Debra Bradford, BBA 80, joined First American Payment Systems, L.P., as senior vice president and chief financial officer. She previously was senior vice president and chief financial officer at ACE Cash Express.
Steven R. Leblanc, BBA 80, became CEO of Summit Properties in July. Formerly, he was president and chief operating officer of the company. Prior to joining Summit, Steven was president of Urban Growth Properties in Atlanta.
George C. Woods, BBA 80, has been named president of Entertainment Technologies & Programs Inc. He had been the company’s CFO.
William Burke, BBA 81, has been appointed vice president and chief financial officer of Cholestech Corporation. He joins the company from Bear, Stearns & Co. where he was a managing director in the investment-banking department.
Marc Hafner, BBA 81, has been appointed president and CEO of BroadCloud Communications Inc., a provider of solutions that enhance the reliability and speed of wireless data connections. Hafner was previously with Westell Technologies.
Noell Michaels, BBA 81, has been named senior vice president of sales for UAL Corporation’s BizJet subsidiary. He was previously with Gulfstream Aerospace Co., and named their Worldwide Salesman of the Year in 1997.
Paul Boitmann, BBA 82, has been appointed president of Newell Rubbermaid Inc’s, Home Depot division. He has been with Newell Rubbermaid for over 18 years and will be responsible for reorganizing and integrating the company’s Home Depot sales force.
C. Cody Colquitt, BBA 83, has joined Bowne & Co. Inc., as its senior vice president and chief financial officer. He was previously controller of Sammon Communications.
Robert Doty, BBA 83, and wife Cathy are the proud parents of Taylor Michelle (born 1994) and Marshall Faustino (born 2000). Robert is a partner in the San Francisco office of Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP, a 100-lawyer firm specializing in a real estate matters throughout California.
Darrell Gurney, BBA 84, won the 2001 Clarion Award for Best Book by the Association for Women in Communications for Headhunters Revealed! Career Secrets for Choosing and Using Professional Recruiters.
Mike Snyder, BBA, 84, retired from the Marine Corps after more than 26 years of service. His last tour of duty was as an assistant professor at Duke, UNC at Chapel Hill, and NCSU, teaching military history.
Nancy Baker, BBA 85, has been named chief financial officer of Cymer, Inc., a supplier of excimer light sources used in semiconductor manufacturing. She joined Cymer as corporate controller for worldwide operations in 1992.
Christopher Hamer, BBA 85, has been appointed director of marketing communications for OnStar. Prior to joining OnStar he was vice president of online strategy for Priceline.com.
Elizabeth Davis Jordan, BBA 85, has been named chief financial officer of Tumbleweed Communications Corp., a messaging software provider. She was most recently senior vice president and CFO of Catapulse, Inc.
Scott Raskin, BBA 85, has been appointed president, market division Americas, for Telelogic AB, a global provider of solutions for advanced software and systems development. He was previously a member of the original management team at Nexgenix.
Jeff Wright Fisher, BBA 86, has enrolled in the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA in the Masters of Divinity program with the eventual goal of being ordained an Episcopal priest. Jeff and his wife Susan have two sons, Scott (10) and John (7).
Jay Drayer, BBA 86, has been elected to the board of directors of the Financial Executives Institute, San Francisco Chapter. Jay is employed as executive vice president, chief financial officer of RadixOne, an information technology consulting company with locations throughtout the country.
Brian Hamilton, BBA 87, graduated from the Executive MBA program at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. In November, he and his wife Carmen adopted a child, Natalie Nicole Elizabeth. Brian is Controller for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
David Oh, BBA 87, has been appointed to the board of directors of GigaMedia Limited, a multi-technology provider in Taiwan of broadband Internet access services and broadband content for Chinese markets. He is currently senior director, corporate development at Microsoft.
Greg Mather, BBA 88, recently accepted the Chicago-area position of vice president of marketing research for Harris Bank, the 35th largest banking organization in assets in the United States. Previously Greg was director of the Consumer Markets Knowledge Center with KPMG Consulting.
Christopher Cypher, BBA 89, has been promoted to partner in the Anchorage, Alaska office of Perkin Coie LLP. He focuses on corporate finance and securities, banking and commercial law, and intellectual property.
Clay Border, BBA 90, has been appointed chief development officer of IVG Corporation, which acquires and enhances revenue-generating companies with a compelling business mode, technology, and proprietary service. Previously, Clay served as the vice president of corporate development for EC Outlook.
Matthew Fossen, BBA 90, has been named president at Viking Capital Group, Inc., an application service provider, third party life insurance administrator, and acquirer of life insurance companies and strategic assests worldwide. Previously, he was with Texas Instruments.
Christine Schaulat, BBA 90, will marry Charles Warden in an October wedding in Nantucket. Christine is the medical technology analyst for Fidelity Management in Boston. She joined the firm after earning her MBA from Harvard in 1997.
Dewana Jo (Smith) Tilotta, BBA 90, and her husband Michael celebrated the first birthday of their daughter, Clara Hope in June. Dewana resigned her position at Digital Graphic Systems last year to be a full time mom.
Christopher Cummings, BBA 91, has been named vice president, technology of KBkids.com, a division of KB Toys, the nation’s largest combined mall-based and online toy retailer. Prior to joining KBkids.com in 1999, he was a founding partner of Vistyx Corporation.
Maria Carmen Nonay Vela, BBA 91, after spending two years in Europe managing the Outreach Program for MIGA-the World Bank Group, returned to the World Bank’s headquarters in Washington D.C. She is currently in charge of regional strategies and policy for the Country Development Group of MIGA.
Jason Dauphin, BBA 93, is a sales rep with ALZA Pharmaceuticals. ALZA was recently bought by Johnson & Johnson. Previously, Dauphin was with Innorex/ Quintilles in Las Vegas.
Jeff Peterson, BBA 95, received his MBA with distinction from Cornell University in May 2001 and is now employed by Capital Southwest Corporation, a private equity firm in Dallas, Texas. He recently married Jennifer Cates of Dallas.
Chris Bartlett, BBA 96, recently finished the first year of the MBA program at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.
Quang Dang Bui, BBA 96, is now a medical doctor working at SW Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. He says that any business major interested in medicine is welcome to contact him for advice.
Alejandro Alonso Sancho, BBA 97, and his wife Guadalupe are the proud parents of Andrea, born last June.
Donovan Campbell, BBA 98, works for Accenture, formerly Anderson Consulting, in New York.
Nir Liberboim, BBA 98, recently joined Polaris Venture Partners in Boston. Previously, he was with Goldman Sachs & Co in New York.
Carissa Harrison, BBA 00, married Chris Sierra in June in Arlington, TX. Carissa is currently employed by Fidelity Investments and the couple reside in Coppell.
