Dan Burck, BBA 56, was appointed Chancellor of the University of Texas System by the Board of Regents on Wednesday, December 6, 2000. Burck has been the interim Chancellor since William Cunningham's retirement in Summer 2000.
Paul J. Wolff, BBA 56, earned an MA with honors in Archaeology from Yale last May. Now an independent researcher, Wolff is planning a 10,000 year old mammoth dig site in Oregon and exploration of the Aleutian Island and British Columbia coasts for evidence of early immigrant landings.
Warren Chancellor, Jr., BBA 75, relocated to Houston after spending 15 years in San Antonio. He is Director of Golf with Lochinvar GC.
Matthew S. Ramsey, BBA 77, has become the president of DDD Energy, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Seitel, Incorporated. Mr. Ramsey was formerly president and CEO of OEC Compression Corporation.
Mark Hancock, BBA 78, has been named General Manager of XeTel Corporation's newly expanded facility in Dallas. Previously Mr. Hancock served as the Senior Director of Manufacturing for Telxon Corp. in Houston.
David Zalman, BBA 78, has become the president and CEO of First Prosperity Bank; a subsidiary of Prosperity Bancshares, Incorporated. Mr. Zalman has been with First Prosperity since 1986. The bank recently merged with Commercial Bancshares Inc.
Thomas Tunstall, BBA 79, earned his PhD in economics at UT-Dallas last year. He is currently a senior manager at KPMG.
Rosalinda T. Moore, BBA 80, married John D. Moore, a UT Law School graduate, last year. The couple lives in Manchaca, TX.
James R. Richter, BBA 82, has been appointed a vice president of merchandising for Clark Retail Enterprises in Illinois. Mr. Richter previously served as vice president of fresh food for 7-Eleven in Dallas. William Adams, BBA 83, was elected county judge of Aransas County. He is married to the former Hallie Gean Gorham, BBA 84, and has two daugthers.
James D. Rollins III, BBA 83, was named president of the Matagorda Banking Centers for First Prosperity Bank. Mr. Rollins currently serves as vice president of the Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation.
Jim Dow, BBA 84, joined Acorn Systems as a senior vice president of sales and marketing. Mr. Dow is a former vice president of CRM sales at Oracle Corporation.
Suzanne Plueckhahn Bergmann, BBA 84, recently resigned as Director of Social Services for Hyatt to be a full-time mom to her two children. She and her husband Art plan to move back to Texas in the summer.
Adam E. Romo Jr., BBA 84, is the new CFO of The Plastic Surgery Company. He was also appointed as secretary of the company's board of directors.
James Cook, BBA 85, joined Akili to lead the company's expansion into Houston and the surrounding Gulf Coast. Mr. Cook was previously with Gap Gemini Ernest & Young as a partner/vice president in its high growth middle market practice.
Tod Knight, BBA 87, was promoted to CTO of Lumniant Worldwide, an e-business professional services firm, after serving as director of strategic partnerships. Tod was one of the founders of Align Solutions, a Texas-based consultancy that joined seven other firms to form publicly traded Luminant in 1999.
Paul Ruiz, BBA 87, was appointed the chief operating officer of Momentum Software. Mr. Ruiz was previously the COO and CFO of EpicEdge, a publicly traded e-services firm.
Richard Rafferty, BBA 88, transferred to the Austin office of the law firm Haynes and Boone, LLP, from the firm's Dallas office. A partner in the Business Transactions Section, he primarily focuses on venture capital, securities offerings, and mergers & acquisitions.
Michael D. Hill, BBA 91, has joined KnowledgeBeam as its chief financial officer. Mr. Hill was previously the director of finance for Agillion.
Mark Peters, BBA 91, lives with his wife and one year old son in Austin. Peters works for CyberPlus Corporation, a healthcare technology firm, as Vice President of Finance & Administration.
Keith Anderson, BBA 92, joined Synhrgy, a company in the human resource outsourcing sector, in Houston.
Ronald Telles, BBA 92, was promoted to Chief of Community Operations at Ft. Bliss Army Base in El Paso.
Eve Graver, BBA 95, recently left M&A at Enron to pursue a career as a professional pilot.
Natalie Bow, BBA 98, has been named the relationship-marketing manager for Land Rover/ North America. She was previously an account executive in the New York offices of OgilvyOne Consulting.
Jason M. Ryan, BBA 98, married Megan A. Witcher (an A&M grad). Upon graduating from the UT Law School this May, he'll join the law firm of Baker Botts LLP in Houston as an associate.
Todd Branum, BBA 99, together with his father, opened Branum's Steaks and BBQ last November, a new restaurant in Hereford, TX.
Miguel Espinosa, BBA 63, MBA 65, retired in April as treasurer of Conoco Incorporated, after more than 35 years with the company. Espinosa is a Life Member of the Advisory Council of the McCombs School, a member of the National Advisory Council at the University of Houston, and a member of the Parents Council at Washington University in St. Louis.
