Royce Herbie Bailey, MBA 56, received his BBA in 1951. After a stint in the Navy, he returned to UT to complete his thesis and receive his MBA in 1956. He remembers that Drs. Charles Kay and Charles Prather and Dean J. Anderson Fitzgerald were on his MBA counseling team. He recently retired from what used to be the Humble Oil Co. (now Exxon) and is thoroughly enjoying life. Royce and his wife recently celebrated their 50th anniversary, and they have eight grandchildren.
David May, MBA 66, owns and operates D.R Kidd Company-a residential and commercial roofing company in Round Rock, TX. They've been reroofing many buildings at UT.
Michael J. Lallinger, BBA 71/MBA 72, and his wife Lisa in August celebrated the birth of their son, Matthew. He joins siblings Laren (8) and Erin (5).
James T. Loughlin Jr., MBA 87, after 14 years at a Big 5 firm, formed his own: Loughlin, Meghji & Co. A boutique restructuring advisory firm, they do turnaround consulting, crisis management and creditor advising.
Daniel Johnston, MBA 87, has become the first PennWell Books author to have three books on the PennWell best seller list concurrently. Daniel is the most widely published author in the world on the subject of International Petroleum fiscal/contractual systems. See more at

Darrell Bacak, MPA 92/BBA 92, and his wife Shelby (Corrier) Bacak are pleased to announce the birth of baby Graham in January 2003. He joins brother Kevin. The family resides in Houston, where Darrell works as a senior tax accountant for Baker Hughes Inc.
In January, James H. Lee, BBA 88 and MBA 92, was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Finance Commission of Texas for a term of six years. He will serve as the Mortgage Broker Representative on the Commission. Lee is the President of E*TRADE Professional Trading, LLC, and also sits on the Advisory Committee of the UT Chancellor's Council. Lee and his wife live in Houston.
Byron Marsales, MBA 93, and his wife, Karen, welcomed a daughter, Mckenzie in September 2002. Their 3-year-old son, Nathan, has been a terrific big brother. Byron started in a new role at Dell Computer as a marketing programs manager focusing on customer retention.
Charles Briner, MBA 94, and his wife Marie are proud to announce the birth of their first child, Diana Noel. She was born in Dallas in December.
Wes Dorman, MBA/JD 94, was elected as a partner of Andrews & Kurth LLP. Wes is a member of the firm's Corporate and Securities group in Houston and specializes in mergers & acquisitions.
Margo Bart, MBA 95, has relocated to the Bay Area to work as contracts advisor to Chevron Texaco Overseas Petroleum (CTOP). In January 2003, she began a world tour to visit the overseas upstream offices.
The international accounting and consulting firm Deloitte & Touche has admitted
John R. Boettiger Jr., BBA 92, MBA 95, to the partnership. Boettiger, who has been with the firm since graduating from UT, works in the financial advisory services practice.
David L. Garza, MBA 95, has been promoted to director of human resources for Medco Health Solutions of Irving, a division of Merck & Co.
Christopher Yeary, BBA/MPA 95, and his wife Leslie announce the birth of their daughter Jules Anne, born in January 2002. Christopher is a manager with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Dallas.
Jeffrey Aryanto, MBA 96, is currently a Technical Manager and Architect with BroadVision Inc.
Joseph Bowen, MBA 96, took a position in September 2002 as director of technology for the Tele- communications Infrastructure Fund Board, an agency of the State of Texas. Also in 2002, he competed in his first triathlon.
Byron Smith and Carla (Snyder) Smith, MBAs 96, announce the birth of quadruplets. Meredith, Bethany, Henry, and Sydney were born in September 2002 and all were healthy, weighing in between 4 and 5 pounds.
Maggie Cooke, BBA/MPA 97, is now Maggie Travis after her marriage two years ago. She works at Rodman Construction in Dallas.
Debbie (Clanton) Hennings, MPA 97, and Brent Hennings were married in June 2000. They welcomed the birth of their first son, Nicholas James in November 2002.
Linda, MBA 97, and Hunter Montgomery, MBA 98, recently brought home a sister for their son John. Her name is Ellen Irene.
Jose R. Castano, MBA 98, reports that his daughter, Claudia Elena, is now eight months old and growing fast. The growing family recently moved to a new house.
Christi Cole, MBA 01, married fellow MBA Fred Khalaf.
Elliott Weir, MBA 02, and his wife, Carrie, are proud to announce the birth of their first son, Travis Elliott Weir, in August 2002. The family remains in Austin, where Elliott works as a Pricing Analyst for IBM Tivoli.
