Anne E. Hollingsworth, MBA 81, was elected to the position of vice chairman of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP). Hollingsworth is manager of banking operations for ChevronTexaco Corp. She has been active in AFP since 1988 and serves on the Government Relations and Board Policy committees.
James B. Smith, MPA 81, recently accepted the position of senior vice president/CFO with Tidelands Oil & Gas Corporation. Smith has substantial experience in directing turnaround situations in the energy and real estate businesses. He is married with two sons and lives in San Antonio.
Michael Cocanougher, MBA 81, joined BNY Asset Solutions LLC as a managing director. Previously, Mr. Cocanougher was a vice president for J.E. Robert Companies.

counsel in Fulbright’s Houston office.
Lindsey Lee, MBA 83, joined Hein & Associates, LLP as a senior manager in the business valuation/litigation support section.
Janis Herschkowitz, MBA 83, was named by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia to serve on its Business Council for a three-year term. Council members advise the Federal Reserve on regional business conditions. Herschkowitz is president and CEO of PRL, Inc., a manufacturing business.
Marilou M. Long, MBA 83, and Laura Ehrenberg-Chesler, BBA 83, founded Crossvault Capital Management, an investment advisory firm in San Antonio. Currently, the firm has $70 million under management.
James Moroney, MBA 83, has been appointed publisher and CEO of The Dallas Morning News. Moroney is a 22-year veteran of Belo, one of the nation’s largest media companies. Most recently he was president of Belo Interactive.

Karen Spacek, BBA 82, MBA 84, joins Gaylord Entertainment Company as senior vice president of systems and communications. Spacek was previously vice president for strategic sourcing at Harrah’s Entertainment.

Suzanne Thomas Porter, MBA 85, has been named to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Operations Strategy and Development, of Tenet Healthcare Corporation.
Karen Courtney, MBA ’86, became director of marketing at Indianapolis-based BSA LifeStructures. Courtney oversees marketing and communications at BSA, the state’s largest architecture firm. Previously, Courtney was a senior associate and director of marketing at NBBJ, an international architecture firm.

Ed Cleaver, MBA ’87, serves as the worldwide marketing management leader for Government Industry at IBM Global Services (IGS). Previously, he was senior marketing manager for IGS Small and Medium Business. He lives in Denver, CO and is married to Colleen Johnson, a residential interior designer.
Fred Fram, BBA 85, MBA 87, has been promoted to the position of first vice president, operations at National Planning Corporation. Fred, wife Melanie and daughter Meredith currently reside in Thousand Oaks, CA.
C. Kim Goodwin, MBA 87, appeared in Yahoo! Finance and Reuters on November 13th. Goodwin was featured in the investor profile section for her success as one of the most prominent African-American women in the career of money management. Today she oversees nearly $41 billion as chief investment officer of domestic growth equities for mutual fund firm American Century in Kansas City, Missouri. Kim also serves on the advisory board for the McCombs School.
Dan Albaum, MBA 87, has been named manager, product management for Cisco’s Enterprise Communications Software Business unit. Previously he was director of hardware strategy and product marketing for Verizon Wireless.

Bryan Stolle, BBA 81, MBA 87, has been named to the advisory board of SeeCommerce, a provider of supply chain performance management and improvement applications. Stolle is chairman of the board, CEO and president of Agile Software.
Gary M. Sullivan, MBA 87, changed the name of his independent company to Landmark Wealth Advisors in Burlington, MA. Sullivan is a registered investment advisor.

Kim Edwards, MBA 88, and husband Anthony Tatu, became the proud parents of Jonas Daniel Tatu, on November 10, 1999. Kim is the Executive Director of the Texas Public Finance Authority, a state agency that handles municipal bond transactions for the State of Texas.
Burt M. Martin, BBA 86, MBA 88, has been appointed vice president, law for Weatherford International, Incorporated. Mr. Martin was also elected by the board to serve as corporate secretary.

Bill Kroger, BBA 85, MBA 89, has been named one of Five Outstanding Young Houstonians by the Houston Jaycees. Kroger is a partner at the Houston headquarters of Baker Botts L.L.P., and was nominated in part for his service as chairman of his firm’s pro bono program and role on the board of directors of Communities in Schools Houston, the largest drop-out prevention agency in the city.

Chris Bjorkeson, MBA 89, took a position to head up marketing for CorporateGifts.com, a new Internet start-up. His wife, Dagmar Rosa-Bjorkeson, MBA 89, works as a director of new product development at Novartis.
David Entrekin, MBA 89, was recently named vice president, Aetna Investor Relations. David is responsible for maintaining Aetna’s relationships with the investor and analyst communities. Previously, David was executive vice president and chief financial officer of American General Corporation.
