The McCombs School was represented by seniors Sheena Paul, Katie McNeill, Mark Rogers and sophomore Nate Paul.

“Winning the competition is an incredible honor for our team, the McCombs School of Business, and The University of Texas,” Nate Paul said. “We accomplished our mission of representing UT and proving our rank as one of the top business schools in the world.”

The competition challenged each team to make strategic and financial recommendations for Kasikorn Bank, the fourth largest bank in Thailand. Judges for the competition included the CEO of the Thailand stock exchange and various executives from Kasikorn Bank and PTT Group, Thailand’s largest conglomerate company.

Sheena Paul said that previous internships and work experience each of the McCombs team members had in the financial industry gave them the insight needed to craft a solid solution to win the title.

The event enabled the teams to gain insight into the world of international financial institutions, she added.

In addition, Thamassat, the sponsoring university, arranged events that enabled all participants to spend time in Bangkok sightseeing and building friendships with students from across the world.

“Experiences like TUBC truly prepare students for a more connected world, giving us the opportunity to take what we have learned at our own university and apply it to an international challenge,” Sheena Paul said.
