Keith Brown Selected as University Distinguished
Teaching Professor
Keith Brown, finance professor at the McCombs School of
Business, has been selected to join the Academy of Distinguished
Teachers—a select group of tenured professors at The University
of Texas at Austin that provides leadership and guidance to
improve the quality and depth of the undergraduate experience.
“There are only a few faculty selected for this prestigious
award every year, and Keith is the eighth McCombs School
professor to be so honored,” said George Gau, dean of the
McCombs School. “Keith is a fitting addition to this
distinguished group and we are proud of his achievement.”
New members of the academy are selected after a rigorous
committee evaluation process that involves deans, members of the
Academy, students and other faculty. The provost receives
recommendations from the committee, and makes the final
selections.
Keith Brown will receive the title University Distinguished
Teaching Professor and will serve at the Academy of
Distinguished Teachers for the duration of his tenure at the
university.
