Austin, Texas -- The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin announces that Steve Salbu has been named the Director of the Executive MBA program delivered in Mexico City. Professor Salbu is replacing outgoing director Ed George.
The Executive MBA in Mexico City is a two-year, dual degree program accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges (SAC) held primarily at the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superioures de Monterey. It is designed for mid-career managers who are at general management levels or who will soon assume those responsibilities. The alternating cycle-Friday and Saturday classes every two weeks-permits continued full time employment while providing time for work, study, and family commitments. Graduates receive a Master's in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master's of Administration from ITESM-Mexico City.
Steve Salbu is the Bobbie and Coulter R. Sublett Centennial Professor and a University Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Management Science and Information Systems department at the McCombs School. “I'm very excited about the appointment,” said Salbu. “Teaching in Mexico City has been one of the best experiences I have had at the McCombs School, and I'm delighted to become involved in the administration of such an excellent program.” He received a BA from Hofstra University; an MA from Dartmouth College; a JD from the College of William and Mary; and an MA and Ph.D. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
“We are very excited to have Steve join our team and we look forward to his leadership in directing this MBA program,” said Phil Zerrillo, director of McCombs School Executive Education. Professor George, a Chairholder in MSIS, will rejoin the faculty in a full-time teaching position.
