What a Day for Dr. Huber
|
On Friday, January 25, Associate Dean Philip Zerrillo announced the promotion of C. Court Huber, Ph.D. to Assistant Dean. Dr. Huber has been with Executive Education as the director of Option II since 1991. The students and alumni in attendance applauded this promotion and congratulated the warmly regarded educator with a standing ovation.
Dean Zerrillo then made a dramatic announcement: in Dr. Huber’s honor, an anonymous donor has donated $100,000 to establish the C. Court Huber Teaching Excellence Fund for Executive Education. Zerillo further announced that Dean Robert May will match this contribution with $100,000 from the Red McCombs gift to double the size of the endowment to $200,000. The Huber Teaching Excellence Fund will support areas such as faculty development and research, curriculum and course development, and salary supplements to attract, retain and develop outstanding faculty.
The anonymous donor has challenged the alumni of Option II and the McCombs School community to raise an additional $100,000 or more. Emphasizing the importance of this special teaching Excellence Fund, Dean May has agreed to match the first $100,000 raised by the alumni in this challenge. If our alumni can successfully meet this challenge, the result will be a $400,000 excellence fund in honor of Dr. Huber. This achievement would not only forever recognize Dr. Huber’s commitment to teaching, but it would also create a lasting resource for Option II and Executive Education at the McCombs School, ensuring the continued excellence of the program.
If you would like to make a contribution to the C. Court Huber Teaching Excellence Fund for Executive Education, please send your gift to the Red McCombs School of Business, Attn: Sandy Dorman, Director of Individual Giving and Endowments, GSB 5.175, Austin, Texas 78712.
