Austin, TX – The new Frito-Lay Student Leadership Center will be centrally located adjacent to the Business School atrium, the main gathering area for students. The Center will serve as a functional work area for graduate and undergraduate student organizations. The interview room will complement existing facilities in the state-of-the-art Ford Career Center.

"Frito-lay has long enjoyed a special relationship with the University of Texas at Austin," says Ron Porter, Frito-Lay Vice-President of Staffing and Diversity. "Our funding of the Frito-Lay Student Leadership Center and an Interview Room in the Ford Career Center highlights our commitment to the Texas Business School and to the mission of growing future business leaders. We are excited about the future of our partnership and look forward to growing together with the University."

Dean Robert G. May praises PepsiCo for their commitment, which will enable Texas students and faculty to embrace new opportunities while maintaining the School's competitive edge. "By funding this important facility, our shared vision of having a top notch Student Leadership Center will become a reality," says May. "These contributions to the Texas Business School will enhance education and be prized by students for many years to come."

The Frito-Lay Student Leadership Center will provide development opportunities for student leaders. The Center will incorporate office space, a conference room, new office equipment, and reception areas for graduates and undergraduates. "This professional, technologically advanced, and first-class atmosphere demonstrates Frito-Lay's commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow by providing them with the tools necessary to make an impact today," says May.

All undergraduate and graduate student organizations will have direct access to the facility.

"Student organizations play an integral role in student development, both professional and academic," says Brian Howell, an undergraduate business student at UT majoring in business honors and marketing. "Organizations provide students with an environment to test their skills and sharpen them for use later in their careers. The Frito-Lay Center will facilitate development for the leaders of today and tomorrow."

In addition to funding the Frito-Lay Student Leadership Center, the PepsiCo Foundation will fund an interview room in the Ford Career Center. This complement to the Career Center will ensure a top-notch, supportive environment for ongoing recruiting efforts at the School.

"The Texas Business School greatly appreciates the PepsiCo Foundation's generous gifts," says May. "We look forward to a productive and long-lasting partnership that will benefit our students, faculty, PepsiCo, and Frito-Lay, and that will provide peerless development opportunities for our students.
