Robert Peterson Named UT
Associate VP for Research

Robert Peterson, McCombs marketing professor and John T. Stuart III Centennial Chair in Business Administration, has been named associate vice president for research in the Office of the Vice President for Research at The University of Texas at Austin.

“I am excited about serving the university in a new capacity and increasing its research stature globally,” Peterson said.

In the past, Peterson served as deputy director and director of research at the IC2 Institute and associate dean for research and chair of the Marketing Department at McCombs.

“Please join me in congratulating Bob on his well deserved new assignment,” said McCombs Dean George Gau. “It will be beneficial for us to have a colleague in this important role.”

Peterson’s responsibilities as associate vice president will include research integrity, conflict of interest, international programs, oversight of IC2 and special projects. He takes the post of Sharon Brown, who has returned to research as a professor in the School of Nursing.

“Bob Peterson brings a wealth of experience in teaching, research and administration to his new role in the Office of the Vice President for Research,” said Juan Sanchez, vice president for research. “His perspective will be valuable as we move forward.”
