 In June 1996, Mr. Johnson became President and COO, and later President and CEO in April 1998. He became only the fifth Chairman in Heinz’s 138-year history in September 2000.

 Mr. Johnson sits on the Board of Directors for the Grocery Manufacturers of America and is also an active advisory council member for the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, where he earned an MBA in 1974.
